Facialist massage : skin-respectful manual therapies
The term facialist became popular in the early 1950s. Initially, it referred to « a person trained in administering facials and other skin treatments for the face ». Over the past decade, however, this definition has gradually evolved.
Today’s facialists stand out through a more natural and global (holistic) approach to facial treatment and care. The work is no longer limited to treating the skin at surface level only. But instead aims, through manual techniques, to stimulate the deep and internal nourishment of all the layers and tissues that make up the face.
Modern facialists therefore move away from chemical peels, invasive and abrasive treatments, extractions, and high-tech machinery, choosing instead manual therapies that are far more skin-respectful. These approaches also integrate the other dimensions of the face and seek to restore overall harmony.
The benefits of facialist massages
With the facialist massage the work involves not only the skin, but also the muscles, fascias, and the nervous, blood, and lymphatic systems. Time is taken to reconnect the head with the rest of the body by treating the neck, shoulders, and décolleté.
A calm nervous system and relaxed tissues, combined with work on both superficial and deep layers, allow adhesions to release, congestion to reduce and mobility to return. Visible aesthetic results, deep wellbeing and renewed self-confidence guarantee !
A little bonus: all of these gentle approaches are microbiome-friendly and preserve the skin barrier!

During the courses, technique is never taught in isolation.
Every training includes a solid theoretical foundation so you understand why you do what you do, not just how to do it. Anatomy, physiology, tissue behaviour, and intention are always part of the conversation. Then comes the hands-on work. Plenty of it!
